Default A glimpse into a fake future

All ideas are my own and have not been taken from anyone else's post. The idea behind this thread is to kind of envision a future of tyria, cantha, and elona some number of years after the events after each of games have ended.
This first one will be about the reconstruction of tyria, a kind of testing of the water and see what people think. I'm hoping to do the other two lands if people enjoy my first one.



The Highland Plains of Ascalon

We'll start in the Ascalon Foothills at the reconstructed Fort Kyhlo. This fort has served as a starting point for the flow of refugees to and from Kryta. Also the use of channels and other devices to bring snow melt to the former lands of Rin to start small farms for food. The Nolani Academy has been reopened with new students being enrolled with each coming and going of the season. The return of the first groups of Ascalon refugees from Kryta have help turn the surrounding waste into cropland to support the defenders and other returning refugees. Work of heroes and ordinary men have brought the plow back to much of Ascalon southern lands and help finish the Fortress of Crystal Sands. This fort would allow for travel from outpost in the Crystal Desert and the lands of Orr. Fort Ranik has been torn and stripped of its stones to be used in this project along with the rebuilding of Sardelac Sanitarium. Sardelac's catacombs have also been dug out and the disordered remains of the dead have been re laid to rest in proper order. A memorial to the late Prince Rurik, and his father, King Adelbern, who pasted away after Fort Kyhlo was finished. Many more graves have been left empty yet taken for those lost in the Searing and those lost in the struggle afterward. The Academy of Ascalon has been rebuilt and King Barradin commands the nation from here. New recruits of the academy are led on regular training missions into the lands still held by monsters. Serenity Temple has also been rebuilt with aid from monks and priest from Tahnnakai Temple in Cantha for rebuilding the temples lost alters to the five gods. Yet outside areas of the temple still remain untamed, Riders and Elementals still run wild and hairy travelers on their way to the temple. Some have felt it may be better to leave the Potmark Fields to them, and use the area for elementalist and mesmers for training. The ruins of Surmia still smoldering heaps of tumbled stone, though the Charr have been pushed out of them, Grawl and Devourers have filled the gap and have become heartily entrenched in the ruins. The Frontier Gate remains as an outpost for guardsman and soldiers that make daily hunting trips into the Eastern Frontier and the ruins in attempts to cull out these monsters. Fort Piken has bloomed into a heavily armored fort under the guidance of King Barradin. The Charr to the north of this point still remain a viable threat to the people of Ascalon so much of the Breach, Flame Temple Corridor, and Dragon's Gullet remain desolate of human culture either to serve as a buffer should the Charr attempt another war or from war bands that slip through the defenses. Guilds still may not hold land in the lands of Ascalon.

The Northern Shiverpeaks

Yak's Bend still remains a sleepy little village where dwarves and humans meet despite the closeness to Fort Kyhlo. Yak's has become a kind of pit stop for traveler on their way to Borlis Pass and the Frost Gate Road that takes one to Beacons and than on top the Kryta Fork. Travel on this road has become much safer with the withdrawal of Stone Summit and it ilk, yet hazards still take a many a traveler's life every season. Shiverpeak Centaurs and Minos have become more ranged in their domains in the Northern Shiverpeaks. Of late the Deldrimor Dwarves have been working on building a smelting and mining outpost in the Iron Horse mines. Setbacks though are plenty thanks to rampaging ice elementals set free by retreating Stone Summit and Frostfire fangs and ettins are also slowing the progress of the camp. Anvil Rock has become open area for the raising of dolyaks and Ice Tooth Cave a huge barn to house the herds. Dwarves have a nice market at selling barbequed dolyak to humans of all lands. Dedrimor Bowl still holds a few dwarf homes but the northern rim of the bowl has become increasingly home to large numbers of centaurs, raising concerns of a war with them in the coming years. Griffons Mouth having become the last part of the Frost Gate Road has become cleared of ettins and other monsters that once lived in the area. The route south from Beacons to Camp Rankor and to other Southern Shiverpeak towns still remains open for those that have received the blessing of the gods. Still there are a number of vagabonds that for gold will guide the untrained into the southern lands where the armories are more skilled. Dwarf rangers though enjoy testing new forms of traps on these who are unworthy of the wares offered in the Southern Shiverpeaks.

The Republic of Kryta

We'll start at the small outpost of Kryta Fork. It's here that travelers can chose from either heading directly into Lions Arch from the East Gate or on the path toward the north western gate. Another option is to head north toward the Refugee City, a permant city for humans and other races fleeing conflicts in their lands for somewhere safer to live. From there it is only a small walk to Nebo Village, Beetlerun, Bergen Hot Springs or Lions Arch. The lands of Watchtower Coast and Divintiy Coast have become rural lands for farmers, many live quietly and peacefully with the removal of the White Mantle, much of the Tengu, and the Undead. Though the Republic has become to station soldiers in the old watchtowers in hopes of starting forays into the lands to the north of there. The D'Alessio Seaboard was one of two remaining bastions of White Mantle power, that now has ended with a strong force of Lionsguard. Since the forming of the republic, it has become known as Lions Coast and the fortress and surrounding land are training areas for the republics legions. The Black Curtain and The Cursed Lands have been purged of the undead, an act of the Senate in their fifth year in power, so travelers could safely travel to the Temple of Ages. Though since the removal of the undead bog skales and mergogyles have exploded in numbers in the Black Curtain. Despite multiple attempts, Kessex Peak still remains home to many bandits and rouge spell casters. Since the fall of the White Mantle and the rise of the Republic, the Temple of Ages has grown back into its original glory, rivaling Serenity, Tahnnakai, and the Chantry in splendor and glory of its alters to the five gods. Strangely after the defeating of the titans and the forming of the Republic of Kryta, the large numbers of fire imps that roamed the land have vanish, leaving no trace as to where they have gone.

The lands in Between
Talmark Wilderness, Tears of the Fallen, Stingray Stand, and Twin Serpent lakes all have remained the same, filled with jungle minos, drakes, and tengu. Since the closing of the Harbor at Sanctum Cay, the area has become quieter without the large flow of travelers. Fishersman Village would have been over run by the tengu if not for intervention by Talon Sliverwing and an embassy of Cantha Tengu in Tyria to sway the other tengu tribes to make peace with humans. A condition of this treaty was that the fisherman of the village had to give some of their catch to the tengu, as Tyrian tengu develop a taste for a certain fish that only human can catch, from the their Canthan cousins.

Lands of the Jungle

The Maguuma Jungle still remains isolated from the main stream of affairs in the land of Tyria. The Shinning Blade have rebuilt many of their bases and boosted their numbers. Deciding to leave the jungle rather untouched by the hand of men, the Shinning Blade have turned Druids Overlook into a type of school for those wishing to start down the path of the druids, and transcend into a higher realm of life with nature. A strong number of the Shinning Blade are stationed around the Bloodstone, guarding it from those that would seek it for their on personal gain. A number of Canthan and Elonain scholars have come to study the Bloodstone found in the Fen. Mamnoon Lagoon has become safer to travel through with the massive bridge built over the lake, Riders are still causing headaches though for those on the bridge. Silverwood and Quarrel Falls have become homes to many rangers from across the lands have made the area their home for the closeness to Melandru, the excess of wood for arrows and other materials needed by rangers and the plentiful game that dots the landscape. Quarrel Falls has also built a large alter to Melandru on the pond in the outpost. Ettins Back, Dry Top, and Aurora Glade have continued to be homes for the Maguuma Centaurs. Peace though have been with their tribes was only gain through the use of force from Zed Shadowhoof's tribe and than some talks with Ventari. Reed Bog is where the head chiefs of the centaurs meet to discuss tribal affairs every year. The Falls remains untamed and filled with spiders, scarabs, and root behemoths. Occasionally one may still gain a glimpse of a druid in the land. Henge of Denravi never grew into a full fledge city, but still remain a safe haven on the edge of the wilderness of Tangle Root. It also serves as a home to those on the path to become a druid. Tangle Root remains also very untamed and dangerous to the untrained and the careless. Monsters though are not the only threat here, White Mantle loyalist still haunt these groves and occasionally reports of Mursaat seen among the Mantle. Despite multiple attempts, none have found the Mursaat's hidden city. Maguuma Stade has been left by the Shinning Blade and captured by the White Mantle and thus is their only camp left in all of Tyria. This has left many to suspect that it is near here that one may find the Unseen City. The Riverside Province has become much like Kessex Peak, home to large numbers of bandits and vagabonds. Of late there is constant fighting over rights to the lands by the Canthan gang Am Fah and Tyrian based gang Ventra's Cult. The tengu enjoy practicing the old arts of head hunting of humans in these lands, the other nations happily turn a blind eye to them for it.


The Crystal Lands

The Amnoon Oasis is still one of the main entrance into the Crystal Lands. Amnoon Oasis has bloomed into a rather decent sized port after leaders from Kourna came to the land in another attempt to colony the lands. This was short lived when the project was taken over by the retired general Morgahn had come to Tyria. Morgahn, still feeling regret for the part he played in the near cause of Nightfall over the world, was hoping to gain some part of forgiveness from the five gods by ascending. Seeing the plans of several powerful merchants from Cantha and Elona he put a stop to all of em. Instead before doing much of anything he went out into the sands and sought out the Forgotten. There he convince them to allow humans to rebuild several outpost connected to Ascension. In exchange humans may not seek vengeance for those killed by the Forgotten in the journey to ascension, may not live beyond Amnoon Oasis in the Crystal Lands, and had to help reestablish the Forgotten into power over the Margonites in The Desolation. Morgahn agree and thus it has been since, those who ascend and survive must serve in the Forgotten in hunting the remaining Margonites in The Desolation. Many of the old temples first built by the Turai Ossa were reconstructed under Morgahn. Amnoon Oasis was expanded on with the use of water pumps designed in Kourna and using channels of snow melt from the Southern Shiverpeaks. The Arena once popular with many heroes that had once traveled the lands, was once again opened for fighters to come and test their mettle before heading into the sands. Otherwise not much has changed in the desert, outpost are more welcoming and the ghost and spirits have a few more people to talk to. Glint still has her lair here, though fewer heroes take the task of her defense to see her nowadays. Morgahn though can be found working with the Zaishen in removing the taint of Abaddon from the Tombs of the Primeval Kings. The Sunspears have also joined the Zaishen there in removing his taint from this once wonderful monument. From Amnoon Oasis one can head straight for the Tomb than onto the Crystal Fort in Ascalon or one can head toward the camps in the sunken lands of Orr. On a side note it is known that after Morgahn had passed through Prophet's Path, he began using a spear called Kepkhet's Killer, it's tip looked like the talon from a scarab and Kepkhet's brood have become sparse and she herself is still missing.

The Southern Shiverpeaks

Thunderhead Keep remains the capital of Deldrimor Dwarves and Droknar's Forage is still the a large commercial city. The defeat of the Stone Summit has help quell the infighting of the dwarves and allowed for the Deldrimor Dwarves to begin reopening safe travel in Southern Shiverpeaks and trade contracts with human nations. The grawl are still a sizeable threat in Whitman's Folly, though the dwarves do have plans to wipe them out. Marhan's Grotto and Granite Citadel still remain small outpost that offer specially crafted armors for heroes that have ascended. The Iron Mines of Moladune along with Copperhammer Mine are now back to their full mining force with the civil war over and the smiths at Droknar's Forage are more than happy about this. Port Sledge remains an important port for commerce for the dwarves, as its cheaper to move the goods to Amnoon Oasis than to other human ports than to directly cross the mountains. Deldrimor War Camp remains as a watch post over Sorrow's Furnace, the last bastion of Stone Summit power. The Stone Summit must give yearly amounts of minerals to the Deldrimor Dwarves as punishment for their rebellion. It is also at the warcamp that dwarf rangers have begun work on several traps to waylay vagabond guides from Beacons Perch. Mineral Springs remains full of Avicara and have also pushed into Tasca's Demise with the retreating Stone Summit. Unlike their low land cousins, the Avicara refuse to meet peacefully with humans despite many attempts by Talon Silverwing and other Canthan tengu. Currently in the works, several Vabbi Princes want to open a spa in the Mineral Springs, the dwarves laugh themselves silly at the idea still.


The Sunken Lands of Orr and the Fire Isles

Since the reopening of travel to other lands there’s been a growing group of foreign travelers that have sought out the once mythical lands of Orr. Finally they were able to travel there and have started building camps and other works sites to reclaim the lands of Orr. So far almost every nation in Tyria is outraged by this act and are attempting to block more incoming travelers. Much of the land is sunken deep below a mire of salt and fresh water, creating an strange type of fog that hangs over the entire area almost all the time. The largest camp currently sites on what appears to have been a large stone laid forum, though almost all traces of its purpose are gone. A constant threat in the lands have been a barrage of undead, constant guard is required so as not to increase the numbers of the walking dead. Many of the builders in Orr are dervishes from Elona, seeking to reconstruct a once home of the gods, in case some day they desire to return to Tyria. Also rumored to be among the workers are agents of the Order of Whispers, which might not be a bad idea, there could be artifacts with forbidden magics on them in the ruins. Some artifacts found of interest were several were several axe heads with the words "kyhlo" barely readable in the rusted metal.

The Fire Isles still belongs to the few monsters that live there. Occasionally dwarves inhabit Ember Light for mining missions but for the most part, the land is still to dangerous for any race to try and build a permant outpost. The Bloodstone still lays somewhere in the isles, guarded only by the extreme land conditions and the equally dangerous monsters.

Thanks guys for the postive comments so far. I know i could use some inprovement in grammer and spelling. Add a small bit at the end of the sunken lands bit, i may go back and change some of the story to develop it more.

i dont think it was boring. Its an informational piece, not so much a dazzeling story line with monsters and knights and such. I think it is what it is; a glimpse into a fake future. Still I say well done.
